Administration Officer Job Advert

Role

The Administration Officer of Hilton Parish Council will be responsible for key aspects of the Council's day to day business.

Main Duties

  • Responding to daily arisings from within the Parish Council or from residents (including checking post box and telephone messages)
  • Managing the Council's football pitch booking, and invoicing system, (including on time payment) and ensuring that pitches / facilities are maintained.
  • Place and manage orders for the purchase and supply of goods.
  • Manage regular update of Parish Council noticeboards, and website.

Working hours

The Council envisages a very flexible working arrangement as the workload will not be regular from day to day. It is estimated that this will be covered by an average of 5hrs a week.

Most of the role can be conducted from home with visits to the Parish Council office for liaison purposes.

The number of hours will be reviewed to make sure it is sufficient. Depending on the candidate, there are opportunities to develop the role further, with more hours, to include attendance at monthly (evening) Parish Council meetings, agenda setting, and minute taking.

Qualifications and Experience

Capable of working on their own, with initiative, and able to prioritise work, without the need for direction.
In actioning work, recognising when issues need escalating to the Responsible Financial Officer or Chairman.
Must have:

- IT skills in Word, Excel, Outlook, website update and Facebook

- good business/administration skills

- good interpersonal skills
